News -- November 19, 2009
Judson Center is very happy that we have toys for the children. They asked that we do NOT wrap the gifts, so that will save some time at our next meeting.
The toys for the Christmas bags have been delivered, and Mrs. Tibai and I are busy getting other items to add to the bags and for the soldier's Christmas box. Please bring any of these items to the meeting:
Chocolate cookies and/or candy
Toiletries for guys such as spray deoderant, talc, etc.
Chips and other snacks
Decks of cards
Man's rosary
Rosary booklet
We will be sending copies of the books and CDs from St. Joseph's Media to him as well as he wanted Catholic books and music
At our next meeting we will have some breakfast and fill the Christmas bags and the box for our soldier.
Remember to save Dec 27th as the date that we will go caroling. I am arranging it with some local nursing homes.
I also talked with Father and in the spring we will have the ceremonies for the different steps in Sodality for you. That should be really nice.
That's all for now. God bless you.

Sodality Meeting Agenda 2009-2010
The focus this year will be on the virtue of Charity for Catholic women.
September – At this meeting we will greet any new members, elect officers, and discuss the upcoming year and our plans and events. In addition, each member will choose a woman saint who they would like to pray to and read about this year. We will discuss the importance of having examples from which to model our behavior. Each girl will do some reading on her chosen saint and discuss her at the next meeting.
October – This meeting will focus on the charity project on which to work for this Christmas season. We will also work on our Sodality scrapbook. Each member will give a short talk about the saint they chose.
November – We will work on our Christmas charity project.
December – Caroling
January – Pilgrimage
February – Tea and fashion show. At this meeting we will begin to plan the May fashion show and tea. We will have most of our meeting in conjunction with the Christian Mothers group who will be working with us on the tea and fashion show.
March – Tea and fashion show planning, continued. We will get volunteers for models and other duties.
April – Continue to plan for the tea. Discuss importance of etiquette.
This meeting will be focused on the importance of being a lady and its timelessness. The correlation between being a lady and having charity and kindness will be stressed. Behavior, decorum, dress, language, etc will all be discussed.

Recent News
On Feb 8th we had a successful St. Valentine's Day bake sale raising nearly $50 for our treasury.
I spoke with Diane Skylis, President of the Christian Mothers group. She says they want to work with us on the Second Annual Spring Fashion Show and Tea. During their next meeting, I will be going over to speak with them and start planning.
The tentative idea is to feature clothing, jewelry, other wearable crafts made by our parishioners. This could include items sewn, crocheted, knitted, beaded, etc.
The date will more than likely be a Saturday in May.
Our Lenten Pilgrimmage will be on March 7th. We will be visiting the Solanus Casey Center, St. Mary's of Greektown, and St. Anne's. We will be eating in Greektown. Transportation will be on your own, but your meal will be paid for from our treasury.

A Blessed New Year!
During our meeting on January 4 we will have a visit from Mrs. Critzer telling us about her students and reading their thank you notes for the gift bags we sent to them. Monica also has a letter from the Judson Center regarding the gift bags we sent to them as well.
Also, we will be planning our January outing. Due to the unpredictable weather, I thought we might stay closer to home than Toledo and visit the Solanus Casey Center and St. Anne's where Fr. Gabriel Richard is buried. Afterward, we will go to eat...perhaps Mexican Town, which is close by?
Please ask your parents some Saturday or Sunday afternoons in January when you might be able to go on this outing. You will need no money as we have plenty of money in our account to pay for your expenses.
See the links for more information for our outing.
God bless you and see you on Sunday!
